IMMUNOCAL® — Patient Medication Information

Whey Protein Isolate — Glutathione Precursor Manufacturer: Immunotec

Patient Information Overview

This document provides important information about IMMUNOCAL. It does not replace medical advice. Consult your doctor, pharmacist, or healthcare provider for guidance specific to your health.

1. What is IMMUNOCAL?

IMMUNOCAL is a Natural Health Product (NPN‑80004370) made from specially processed whey protein isolate. It is:

  • Approximately 90% protein

  • Low in fat and lactose

  • Usually tolerated by people with lactose intolerance

  • Produced using a proprietary method that preserves undenatured proteins

2. What Does IMMUNOCAL Do?

IMMUNOCAL provides cysteine, a key precursor needed for your body to produce glutathione, which supports:

  • A strong and healthy immune system

  • Increased muscle strength and performance when combined with exercise

Glutathione cannot be absorbed effectively when taken directly, so the body relies on precursors like those in IMMUNOCAL.

3. Why Is Glutathione Important?

Glutathione plays several essential roles:

  • Acts as the body’s primary antioxidant

  • Helps detoxify pollutants, heavy metals, cigarette smoke byproducts, and carcinogens

  • Supports proper immune system function

Low glutathione levels can weaken immune defenses.

4. Who Needs Glutathione?

Glutathione levels naturally decline due to:

  • Aging

  • Intense physical activity

  • Illness

  • Stress, pollution, and infection

Maintaining adequate levels supports overall health.

5. Who Should Not Use IMMUNOCAL

Avoid IMMUNOCAL if you:

  • Have a milk protein allergy

  • Are taking immunosuppressive medications (e.g., after organ transplant)

  • Have Cystinuria, a rare inherited disorder

Consult a healthcare professional before use if unsure.

6. Who Should Use IMMUNOCAL With Caution?

Use caution if you:

  • Are on a protein‑restricted diet (each pouch contains 9 g protein)

  • Have a history of cystine kidney stones

  • Experience side effects — consult a healthcare provider

7. Possible Side Effects

Some individuals may experience:

  • Abdominal cramps or bloating

    • Often improved by increasing fluid intake

  • Skin rash

    • May indicate allergy or detox reaction; discontinue use

Seek medical attention if symptoms are severe or persistent.

8. Recommended Dosage

  • 20 g per day for immune support

  • 30–40 g per day used safely in clinical studies

  • Best taken on an empty stomach or with a light meal

  • Avoid taking with another large protein load

9. How to Prepare IMMUNOCAL

The proteins are delicate — do NOT heat or use a high‑powered blender.

Standard Method:

  1. Add 60 mL of liquid to a container

  2. Add 1–2 pouches of IMMUNOCAL

  3. Seal and shake for 10–15 seconds

  4. Add more liquid and drink immediately

Alternative Methods:

  • Mix with 2 tbsp of juice to form a paste, then add 180–240 mL liquid

  • Stir into applesauce or yogurt

Consume within 30 minutes of preparation.

10. Storage Instructions

  • Store in a cool, dry place

  • Avoid heat exposure

  • Refrigeration is optional but may extend shelf life
